Title: A Woman Loses a Child, 2020
Material: Acrylic on canvas

Gold-colored wooden frame, without shadow gap

With the work “A Woman Loses a Child”, the artist has created a symbol of security and at the same time separation. It depicts the processing of a trauma that the artist experienced many years ago.
The work A Woman Loses a Child is therefore powerful and emotionally charged. The intense colors and moving lines express the experience of loss. The figure of a woman is presented in an abstracted form, her body intersected by curved, multicolored paths symbolizing pain, grief, and inner conflict. Amidst these structures, the small child appears as a fragile, luminous figure – a delicate contrast to the force of the surrounding forms. The dominant red, yellow, and blue tones intensify the emotional tension: red stands for blood and suffering, yellow for a hint of memory and hope, blue for the depth of sorrow. Despite the gravity of the theme, movement remains perceptible, almost a resistance against the inevitable. A consolation is provided by the yellow lines in the right background. They symbolize a butterfly, a symbol of transformation and rebirth. In this way, the artist has created a painting that can move viewers deeply through the displayed pain, the transience, and the strength of human emotions.
