The organic, spiral-like lines recall the coils of a snail shell. As a symbol of protection, slowing down, and the inner world. Deep within the strong black arches, a staircase or the structures of a snail shell can be seen; the artist has drawn fine structures, patterns, and textures that could represent inner landscapes \u2013 a hidden microcosm of the soul, rich in diversity. Dense areas and open lines convey the tension that can occur between confinement and security, retreat and self-protection. The drawing The Snail Shell can thus be understood as a place of transformation: interior spaces become a mirror of psychic processes.
